Delhi Launches Citywide 'Freedom From Garbage' Cleanliness Drive Starting August 1

  • The campaign runs August 1–31 under the “Freedom from Garbage” banner as part of Independence Day observances.
  • All levels of Delhi’s administration and elected officials will partner with RWAs, market associations, students and other civic bodies.
  • Special cleanup activities are scheduled each Saturday and Sunday to encourage broad volunteer participation.
  • A dedicated online portal will enable residents to upload before-and-after photographs, fostering accountability and recognition.
  • Efforts will focus on clearing long-standing waste in schools, hospitals, markets, industrial areas, bus terminals and informal settlements.
