Delhi Launches 15-Day Consultation to Revise Citywide Circle Rates

Officials say proposals will follow a feedback review, with the overhaul targeted for completion in the coming months.

Overview

  • Delhi’s revenue department issued a public notice on Oct 1–2 inviting suggestions for revising minimum property valuation rates, with inputs due within 15 days at [email protected].
  • A committee chaired by the divisional commissioner, constituted in June on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s direction, will assess submissions and draft proposed rates.
  • Delhi’s circle rates were last comprehensively updated in 2014 for residential and other immovable properties and in 2008 for agricultural land, with current A–H bands ranging from Rs 7.74 lakh to Rs 23,280 per sq m and higher multipliers for commercial and industrial use.
  • A government task force flagged sharp inconsistencies in the existing structure, noting Delhi’s notified rates often exceed those in Gurugram and Noida and in some cases even Mumbai.
  • Officials and market observers say higher notified values could raise registration costs and property prices if adopted, as nearby Ghaziabad moves to finalize its own hikes for 2025–26.
