Overview
- The shutdown begins at 5 pm on May 31 and lasts for 24 hours to enable critical maintenance operations
- The work involves interconnecting the new 1,000 mm Mehrauli main pipeline inside Deer Park pumping station and raising the 900 mm Kilokari main pipeline near Hans Bhawan, ITO
- Service will be affected in multiple South and Central Delhi areas, including Majnu ka Tilla, Rajghat, the NDMC zone, Defence Colony, South Extension, Mehrauli township and Begumpur
- Residents have been urged to conserve water, prepare for low or no pressure and can arrange tanker deliveries through dedicated DJB helpline numbers
- This follows a similar 24-hour shutdown on May 22 and is aimed at improving the resilience of Delhi’s water distribution network
