Delhi Inaugurates 70 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Topping 200-Clinic Milestone

The rollout advances Delhi’s shift from Mohalla Clinics to standardized primary health centres offering broader services on government-owned sites.

Overview

  • Chief Minister Rekha Gupta opened 70 centres on Tuesday across multiple districts, pushing the operational count of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs beyond 200.
  • Officials say 187 additional centres are expected to become operational by December 31, with a phased commitment to reach 1,139 facilities citywide.
  • Ayushman Arogya Mandirs provide free OPD consultations, diagnostics, essential medicines, maternal and child care, elderly and mental health support, dental care, vaccination and wellness activities.
  • Authorities have decided to move away from rented premises and situate new centres on public land and in government buildings for long-term stability.
  • In the NDMC area, three centres were inaugurated and 12 dispensaries were rebranded as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, alongside an annual Rs 25 lakh boost to strengthen dispensary services.
