Delhi Identifies 1,000-Plus Chhath Puja Sites, Introduces Single-Window Permits

Overview
- Art, Culture & Language Minister Kapil Mishra said more than 1,000 locations across the capital will host this year’s Chhath Puja.
- A new single-window clearance system will handle permissions and NOCs for Chhath Ghats, modeled on processes used for Kanwar Yatra, Ganesh Utsav, Durga Puja, and Ramlila.
- Nodal officers will be appointed in each municipal zone as the MCD leads round-the-clock cleaning, with mobile toilets, ambulances, fire measures, and drinking water arranged at major sites.
- The Irrigation and Flood Control Department will manage barricading and safety, with the Fire Department and NDMC tasked to ensure compliance, and breakfast provided for devotees after the morning arghya.
- Special focus returns to Yamuna ghats, with major hubs in Dwarka, Hathi Ghat, Pitampura, and Sonia Vihar, plus cultural programmes by local artists at 200-plus sites and select ‘Model Chhath Ghats’ showcasing ideal facilities.
