Delhi High Court Orders Priya Sachdev Kapur to File Will Under Seal and Disclose Sunjay Kapur’s Assets

The case now turns on competing claims about a late‑surfacing, unregistered will versus equal rights of Class I heirs under succession law.

Overview

  • Samaira and Kiaan Kapoor have sued alleging forgery of a will dated March 21, 2025 that they say leaves their father’s personal estate entirely to Priya Sachdev Kapur.
  • The Delhi High Court has directed Priya to submit a sealed copy of the alleged will and provide a complete inventory of Sunjay Kapur’s movable and immovable assets, with the next hearing on October 9.
  • The plaintiffs seek partition of the estate, rendition of accounts and an injunction restraining dealings with the assets until the dispute is resolved.
  • Priya’s counsel claims the children already benefited to the tune of ₹1,900 crore via the RK Family Trust, a contention sources close to the children dispute as a paper valuation of Sona Comstar shares still controlled through the trust and Aureus Investments.
  • Rani Kapur asserts her rights as a Class I heir and flags concern over share sales, while the court has removed Sunjay’s sister Mandhira from the case; Priya has also re‑emerged publicly with induction to ACMA’s 2025–26 Executive Committee.
