Overview

  • Major online marketplaces including Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Snapdeal, IndiaMART, Vyapar Times and MyDukaan have removed 21 identified fast-moving consumer goods listings infringing Reliance and Jio trademarks under the interim order.
  • Justice Saurabh Banerjee’s July 10 dynamic injunction bars 21 sellers from manufacturing, selling or advertising products under the Reliance and Jio marks and extends to any future infringing listings.
  • The court held that unauthorized use of the trademarks could mislead buyers about product origin and risk consumer safety, especially among rural and semi-literate shoppers.
  • Platforms are required to submit complete contact details for each infringing seller, including postal addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers and bank account information.
  • The principal suit, Reliance Industries Limited v. Pawan Kumar Gupta and Others, is scheduled for a full hearing on November 13, 2025.
