Delhi, Gurugram Police Disrupt Inter-State Illegal Arms Pipeline With Arrests of Supplier and Robbery Suspects

Officers say the seizures cut off weapons to gangs across the NCR.

Overview

  • Delhi Police Crime Branch raided a Baghpat hideout on October 26 after a tip-off and arrested alleged supplier Gurmeet Singh from a site where a test-firing setup was found.
  • From the Baghpat raid, officers seized two pistols, five country-made weapons, a 12-bore musket, eleven live rounds, twenty-seven spent cartridges, and a car.
  • Interrogation led police to intercept alleged receiver Sumit near Dwarka with a pistol, two live cartridges, and a stolen car; he is wanted in a Jaipur robbery case with a Rs 10,000 reward.
  • Police say Gurmeet supplied weapons to gangs linked to Sunny Sai, Salam Tyagi, and Saddam Gauri across Delhi-NCR and Rajasthan, and they claim the arrests have crippled that supply line.
  • In a separate Gurugram operation, police arrested Sunil alias Tota and two associates before an alleged planned robbery, recovering two pistols, a country-made katta, seven cartridges, and a car, with Arms Act cases registered and court production pending.
