Overview

• The Delhi government released Rs 108 crore as the third instalment of grant-in-aid for 12 fully funded Delhi University–affiliated colleges.
• Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood said the funds cover teachers’ and staff salaries, building maintenance and essential capital expenditures.
• A separate allocation of about Rs 24 crore was issued for immediate needs such as maintenance, electricity and water facilities.
• With the latest transfer, total disbursements to these colleges in the 2025–26 financial year rise to Rs 325 crore.
• Sood described the move as a Diwali gift from Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and criticized earlier governments for delaying or withholding grants.
