Overview
- On June 1, the Delhi government released a 22-page workbook summarizing its first-100-day policy accomplishments and CM Rekha Gupta took a holy dip at Har Ki Pauri to seek Maa Ganga’s blessings for Delhi’s progress.
- The inaugural cabinet meeting approved the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana with a ₹13,000 crore outlay to cover medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh per person, and more than 3.5 lakh Ayushman cards have been issued across 80 empanelled hospitals.
- The Mahila Samriddhi Yojana has been backed by ₹5,100 crore to deliver ₹2,500 monthly assistance to eligible women, alongside commitments to establish crèches, women’s hostels and enhanced safety infrastructure.
- To rejuvenate the Yamuna, the Delhi Jal Board received ₹9,000 crore for 40 new decentralized Sewage Treatment Plants and upgrades to existing systems, while the city plans to deploy over 2,000 electric buses by 2025 to lower air pollution.
- The government will introduce an ordinance to cap private school fees and invest in smart classrooms and libraries for government schools, and has earmarked ₹750 crore for slum area sanitation and permanent housing guarantees.
