Overview
- The CAG’s State Finances report tabled on August 4 reveals Delhi’s accounts swung from a Rs 4,566 crore surplus in 2022-23 to a Rs 3,934 crore deficit in 2023-24.
- Total subsidies climbed to Rs 4,840 crore in 2023-24, up from Rs 3,593 crore in 2019-20 under the previous administration’s schemes.
- Power subsidies alone accounted for Rs 3,249 crore or 70.39% of the total, and free bus travel for women surged from Rs 115 crore in 2019-20 to Rs 482 crore.
