Overview
- The first batch goes live on September 17 at 24 pre-identified, hard-to-access sites across Delhi, including Janakpuri, Najafgarh, Mehrauli, Vasant Kunj, Rohini Sector 16, Lajpat Nagar and Shastri Park.
- Each Quick Response Vehicle is a Maruti XL6 fitted with an advanced ultra high-pressure pump system designed for narrow lanes and faster initial attack on fires.
- Phase 1 procurement cost about ₹8.61 crore, including ₹11.05 lakh per XL6 and ₹24.8 lakh per pump, with totals of ₹2.65 crore for vehicles and ₹5.95 crore for pump systems.
- Phase 2 has a tender on Government eMarketplace for 26 more XL6 vehicles issued on August 21, with pump procurement to follow delivery, and Phase 3 proposals cover 50 additional units.
- Initial staffing will use existing Delhi Fire Service personnel, with plans to outsource manpower in later phases to support the expanded fleet.
