Overview

  • The DoE has formalized a circular requiring each of 100 government schools to establish one language and one co-curricular club for the 2025–26 session.
  • Schools will receive Rs 20,000 each—Rs 10,000 per club—to support planning and execution of activities.
  • Principals must finalize club selections, schedule year-long programmes and set up monitoring and record-keeping systems.
  • Participation in at least one club is compulsory for all students to boost communication skills and diverse talents.
  • Language club options include Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Urdu and Punjabi while co-curricular offerings span science, arts, sports, yoga, inclusive education and student councils.
