Delhi Crime Branch Busts ISI-Linked Drone Arms Network, Seizes 10 Foreign Pistols and Arrests Four

Investigators describe a drone-based supply chain they link to Pakistan’s ISI.

Overview

  • Acting on a November 19 intelligence tip, police set a trap near the Khatu Shyam Temple stretch in Rohini, intercepted a white Swift Dzire, and recovered 10 pistols and 92 cartridges, many hidden inside a speaker box.
  • Mandeep Singh and Dalvinder Kumar of Punjab were detained at the spot, and questioning led to the arrests of Rohan Tomar and Ajay alias Monu from Uttar Pradesh.
  • The cache included Turkiye-made PX-5.7 pistols and China-made PX-3 pistols, with officers noting the PX-5.7 is typically used by special forces.
  • Police say consignments were dropped by low-flying drones at pre-set GPS points in Punjab, wrapped in carbon-lined material, coordinated via encrypted apps, and financed through hawala and proxy accounts.
  • Investigators attribute the network to ISI-backed handlers and cite links to foreign-based gangster Sonu Khatri and associate Jaspreet, with probes ongoing into supplies to gangs such as those led by Lawrence Bishnoi, Gogi, Bambiha and Himanshu Bhau, and any connection to the November 10 Red Fort blast.
