Overview

• On July 25, Civil Judge Renu granted an interim injunction under the Code of Civil Procedure to prevent further harassment of plaintiff Mukesh Taneja.
• The order bars Nancy Verma and her husband, Harvansh, from entering the Vijay Nagar property or coming within 300 metres of Taneja and his family.
• The injunction prohibits the couple from stalking, harassing or contacting the man or his relatives through any means, including electronic, telephonic or social media channels.
• The court relied on chat screenshots between the parties and CCTV footage to establish a prima facie case of harassment and interference with the plaintiff’s fundamental rights.
• Verma and her husband did not appear at the hearing, and any violation of the restraining order will trigger contempt proceedings.
