Delhi Court Grants Bail to Co-Accused in Vikas Yadav Kidnapping Case

  • Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Partap Singh Laler granted bail to Jalaluddin alias Sameer on July 23 after undisputed passport entries and flight tickets placed him and complainant Raj Kumar Walia together in Thailand.
  • Bail was conditioned on a bail bond and two ₹1 lakh surety bonds, a ban on evidence tampering, no contact with Walia and full cooperation with investigators.
  • A chargesheet against Jalaluddin has been filed and the next hearing is scheduled for August 25, 2025.
  • The Delhi Police Special Cell had registered an FIR on January 6, 2024, accusing Vikas Yadav and co-accused of kidnapping for ransom, assault, robbery, criminal conspiracy and Arms Act violations.
  • Vikas Yadav remains in custody after U.S. authorities charged him in October 2024 over a foiled plot to assassinate Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in New York and expose transnational organized crime links.
