Overview

  • The charges relate to alleged illegal appointments at the Delhi Waqf Board during Khan’s chairmanship from 2016 to 2021.
  • Special Judge Dig Vinay Singh framed criminal conspiracy charges against Khan and Mahboob Alam and misconduct allegations against nine other accused.
  • Ten co-accused include Mahboob Alam, Hamid Akhtar, Kifayatullah Khan, Rafisshan Khan, Imran Ali, Md Ahrar, Aquib Jawed, Azhar Khan, Zakir Khan and Abdul Mannar.
  • In its 46-page order the court cited “strong suspicion” and sufficient prima facie material to proceed to trial without determining guilt.
