Delhi Confirms RSS Lessons in New 'Rashtraneeti' School Curriculum

Teacher training has begun, with class-by-class rollout details still under review.

Overview

  • Education Minister Ashish Sood said the programme will include a chapter on the RSS that covers its history, ideology and volunteer work in relief and social service.
  • Students will also study profiles of figures presented as unsung heroes, including Veer Savarkar, Subhas Chandra Bose, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
  • Rashtraneeti spans Classes 1 to 12 and was launched on September 18 by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during the Namo Vidya Utsav.
  • Officials say teacher manuals are prepared and SCERT is conducting one‑day trainings, with documents scheduling sessions on the first and third Saturdays of each month as the mandate and grade‑wise sequencing are finalised.
  • Authorities describe the initiative as aligned with NEP 2020 and the Constitution’s Fundamental Duties, with references to leaders associated with the RSS, and the announcement coincides with centenary events in Delhi featuring the Prime Minister.
