Overview
- An Expenditure Finance Committee meeting approved a ₹805.99 crore plan for a medical college and hostels at Indira Gandhi Hospital in Dwarka with a 2028 completion target.
- The Public Works Department will construct the campus and the Health and Family Welfare Department will oversee the project.
- Work will proceed in phases starting with the academic block, student hostels, and faculty housing across about 1,17,246 square metres including nearly 34,000 square metres of basement space.
- The college will follow National Medical Commission rules, opening with 150 MBBS seats and scaling to 250 a year to expand Delhi’s pipeline of doctors.
