Overview
- An Expenditure Finance Committee meeting approved ₹1,471.14 crore for an integrated elevated corridor and two underpasses along Mehrauli–Badarpur Road.
- The double-decker design places a metro line on the upper deck and a six-lane road below, with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation executing the project.
- The corridor spans nearly five kilometres in two stretches—Saket G-Block to Sangam Vihar (2.42 km) and Maa Anandmayee Marg to Pul Prahladpur (2.48 km)—with an additional 2.5 km segment granted in-principle approval that requires Ministry of Culture clearance near Tughlaqabad Fort.
- Separately, the government initiated a feasibility study and DPR for a proposed four-lane Janakpuri–Pankha Road flyover from DESU Colony to Janakpuri D Block.
- Rehabilitation funds were sanctioned for the Zakhira (₹20.18 crore) and Seelampur (₹17.85 crore) flyovers, including CFRP strengthening, replacement of joints and bearings, and prestressing, with DPR and tender timelines expected in the coming weeks.
