Delhi Building Collapse Kills Five, Rescue Operations Ongoing

A newly constructed four-story building in Burari, Delhi, collapsed, leaving five dead, including two minors, and several others still feared trapped.

The building, located in Kaushik Enclave, Burari, collapsed on Monday evening around 6:30 pm, trapping an estimated 20-25 people under the debris.
Rescue efforts by Delhi Fire Services, Police, NDRF, and DDMA have so far saved 12 individuals, while five fatalities, including two minors, have been confirmed.
The victims include construction workers and their families who had been living in the building, with some still unaccounted for as search operations continue.
Authorities suspect structural weakness or construction negligence as the likely cause of the collapse; investigations are underway, and legal action is being pursued against the building's owner.
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari have assured full support for rescue operations and aid to affected families, emphasizing accountability for the tragedy.
