Delhi Bans Two- and Three-Wheelers on UER-II, Mobilizes Enforcement and Access Measures

Officials shift from inauguration to safety enforcement on the high-speed corridor.

Overview

  • Delhi Traffic Police were ordered to strictly block two- and three-wheelers and run signages, announcements and awareness drives.
  • Surveillance cameras, patrol vans, additional manpower and ambulances will be deployed along the corridor for rapid emergency response.
  • NHAI was directed to begin immediate construction of service roads to provide safe local access for nearby residents.
  • Departments were told to implement permanent drainage in vulnerable North West Delhi areas including Karala–Kanjhawala, MundkaKarala and near Barwala.
  • The power discom must fast-track transformers for Package 5, with NHAI coordinating execution with the India International Convention Centre.
