Delhi Assembly Renames Disputed Chamber as ‘Tiffin Kaksh’ and Launches Inquiry

Archival maps have shown the chamber was a service area rather than an execution site, prompting a Privileges Committee inquiry.

Displaying a 1912 map of the Assembly complex, the Speaker had said on Wednesday that there was no documentation or evidence indicating that the space was used for executions.

Overview

  • The Assembly officially renamed the so-called “Phansi Ghar” as “Tiffin Kaksh” on August 8 and ordered removal of the 2022 foundation plaque crediting AAP leaders.
