Delhi Assembly Prepares MLAs for Paperless Monsoon Session with NeVA Training

Legislators will begin NeVA training on July 21 in preparation for a fully digital session

Overview

  • Ongoing modernization works—including smart delegate units, high-speed networking, iPads and an automated HD audio-visual system under NeVA—are scheduled to finish by July 27
  • A 500 kW solar power plant is being installed to power the assembly complex and reduce its carbon footprint
  • The Monsoon Session of the Eighth Delhi Assembly is expected to start in late July or early August once upgrades are complete
  • A dedicated NeVA training centre equipped with around 20 advanced computers has been set up within the Vidhan Sabha premises by the Public Works Department
  • From July 21 to 23, experts from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will train MLAs on digital document access, real-time legislative tracking and online submission of motions
