Overview
- The Assembly, which held a high-level security review on Thursday, assigned nearly 130 personnel including Delhi Police and CRPF members and deployed a CRPF Quick Response Team for the Aug 7–11 Monsoon Session.
- Delhi Police conducted a mock drill at the legislative complex to test evacuation routes, medical aid, bomb-disposal responses and other emergency procedures.
- Physical upgrades announced include hydraulic road blockers at entry gates, the installation of view cutters to block line-of-sight around the perimeter, and a revised access protocol that limits public entry to Gate No. 1.
- Officials agreed to station an Assistant Commissioner of Police–rank officer permanently at the Assembly and to open a dedicated Delhi Police office inside the complex to centralize supervision and speed operational coordination.
- The Business Advisory Committee has set the session agenda to introduce three bills and to table two CAG reports plus a DERC notification, measures that could affect public service delivery, urban shelter rules and electricity regulation oversight during the sitting.
