Delhi Assembly Concludes First Fully Paperless Monsoon Session

Overview

  • The Assembly used the NeVA portal to hold its first fully paperless monsoon session over five sittings from August 4 to 8, recording 19 hours and 40 minutes of digital deliberations.
  • Lawmakers passed the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2025, and two GST amendment bills to cap private school fees and revise tax provisions.
  • A total of 171 Special Mention notices were filed under Rule 280, with 62 matters discussed on the floor and departments instructed to provide replies within 30 days.
  • Finance and Appropriation Accounts for 2023–24 along with multiple Comptroller and Auditor General reports were tabled and referred to the Public Accounts Committee for deeper review.
  • The House took up two Calling Attention motions and directed the Privileges Committee to examine the controversy over the ‘Phaansi Ghar’ installation in the Assembly premises.
