Delhi Approves Annual Verification of Welfare Beneficiaries to Curb Fraud

Officials will run biometric checks via CSC SPV to purge ineligible names.

Overview

  • The drive will begin shortly across all districts and is slated to cover about 600,000 beneficiaries each year.
  • CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, a MeitY-promoted SPV, will carry out the verification.
  • Each person will undergo biometric authentication with a live photograph, Aadhaar, mobile number and address verification, and a digital life certificate will be created.
  • Beneficiaries can complete verification at CSC centres or through home visits, with a call centre and helpline available for support.
  • The government will fund the exercise with fees set at ₹70 at centres and ₹100 for home verification, budgeting about ₹5.57 crore for 2025–26; verified individuals receive digital ID cards and ineligible or deceased names will be removed.
