Delhi Airport Reopens Revamped Terminal 2 as Flights Resume for Winter Schedule

The upgrade adds capacity with technology to redistribute domestic traffic across terminals.

Overview

  • Operations began overnight on October 26, 2025, with IndiGo 6E 2058 from Lucknow as the first arrival and 6E 2343 to Pune as the first departure.
  • The refurbished terminal is designed to handle 15 million passengers annually, contributing to IGIA’s overall capacity exceeding 100 million.
  • Air India shifted 60 domestic flights from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2, and along with IndiGo’s allocations, about 120 daily domestic flights now operate from T2.
  • New passenger systems include Self-Baggage Drop, DigiYatra at entry and security, a virtual information desk, and a high-resolution flight information display.
  • Six autonomous-docking boarding bridges with accessibility features are in service to speed aircraft turnarounds and improve boarding.
