Delhi Airport Introduces Special Enclosures for Passengers on Delayed Flights

The new system significantly reduces re-boarding time for passengers delayed by over three hours due to fog, weather, or technical issues.

  • Special enclosures have been set up at all three terminals of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport to streamline the re-boarding process for delayed passengers.
  • Passengers delayed by over three hours can now disembark and re-enter the terminal through these enclosures without undergoing the full security screening process again.
  • The enclosures, located near bus boarding gates and select aerobridges, are equipped with security screening machines and can accommodate 55 to 120 passengers at a time.
  • This initiative reduces the processing time for affected passengers from approximately 2.5 hours to just a few minutes, enhancing overall passenger convenience.
  • Amenities such as toilets and vending machines are being added to the enclosures, with access restricted to airline staff, security personnel, and the delayed passengers.
