Delhi Airport Introduces Special Enclosures for Passengers on Delayed Flights

The new system significantly reduces re-boarding time for passengers delayed by over three hours due to fog, weather, or technical issues.

Special enclosures have been set up at all three terminals of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport to streamline the re-boarding process for delayed passengers.
Passengers delayed by over three hours can now disembark and re-enter the terminal through these enclosures without undergoing the full security screening process again.
The enclosures, located near bus boarding gates and select aerobridges, are equipped with security screening machines and can accommodate 55 to 120 passengers at a time.
This initiative reduces the processing time for affected passengers from approximately 2.5 hours to just a few minutes, enhancing overall passenger convenience.
Amenities such as toilets and vending machines are being added to the enclosures, with access restricted to airline staff, security personnel, and the delayed passengers.
