Overview
- Delhi’s overall AQI dipped to about 370–373 on Friday morning from 391 a day earlier, marking a seventh straight day in the 'very poor' range, CPCB data showed.
- Thirteen of 39 monitoring stations registered 'severe' readings, with Wazirpur worst at around 442 and hotspots such as Anand Vihar, Rohini, Jahangirpuri, Mundka and RK Puram above 400.
- The Air Quality Early Warning System projected 'very poor' to 'severe' conditions for several more days as low winds and falling temperatures continue to trap pollutants.
- Modeling by IITM’s Decision Support System estimated vehicular emissions contributed roughly 17% of Delhi’s particulate load on Thursday, with stubble burning around 3%, and slightly lower shares projected for Friday.
- GRAP Stage 3 restrictions remain in force across Delhi-NCR; school sporting activities are suspended on official orders, and courts have endorsed earlier-trigger curbs and subsistence support for affected workers, while reports say a junior cricket match was shifted out of Delhi due to the air.
