Overview

  • The Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority will bring the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Delhi Transport Corporation, DIMTS, the traffic police and municipal bodies under a single coordinating body.
  • After securing ministerial approval in April, the government is proceeding with UMTA preparations while awaiting detailed clearance from the finance and planning department.
  • Citywide surveys will map metro, bus, rapid rail and feeder services to develop rationalised routes for seamless last-mile connectivity.
