Overview
- DTC has invited nationalised banks to be empanelled to issue National Common Mobility Cards for use across Delhi’s public transport network.
- Three variants are planned: pink for women and transgender commuters with free bus travel, blue for general use, and orange as a monthly pass for general and concessional categories.
- Eligibility requires bona fide Delhi residency for applicants aged 12 or above with valid address proof, with cards available through preferred banks and instant issuance at designated points.
- On buses, conductors enter trip details on ETMs, riders tap to validate and pay, transaction amounts are written back to the card, and data flows to AFCS and the acquirer bank for daily settlement.
- Enforcement and operations include inspector validation with fines for invalid travel, depot reconciliation of cash and digital receipts, and top-ups via internet banking or point-of-sale channels.
