Overview
- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced Delhi will implement the national 112 number through ERSS 2.0.
- All calls, mobile app alerts, panic-button signals, SMS and web reports will route to a single Public Safety Answering Point for coordinated dispatch.
- The platform will automatically detect caller location and show real-time incident and vehicle details on a control-room dashboard with ETA tracking.
- A single alert will simultaneously notify police, fire, ambulance and disaster management services to reduce response delays during the golden hour.
- Rollout will proceed in phases, starting with merging current helplines into 112 and moving to upgrades, training, outreach and evaluation, while media reports indicate possible inclusion of utilities and the Metro.
