- Gulshan Haider of Kalsi tehsil was apprehended by the Directorate of Vigilance while allegedly accepting Rs 2,000 in exchange for domicile and caste certificates.
- To destroy evidence, the patwari swallowed four Rs 500 notes when the vigilance team intercepted him.
- Authorities transported Haider to a local health centre where doctors performed ultrasound and CT scans to recover the ingested currency.
- Investigators registered a case at the Dehradun Vigilance Police Station and produced Haider in court on May 27.
- The court ordered Haider to serve 14 days in judicial custody and he is now lodged in Dehradun District Jail.
