Dehradun Patwari Who Swallowed Bribe Notes Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody

Doctors carried out medical scans to locate the four Rs 500 notes he swallowed after being caught taking a Rs 2,000 bribe.

  • To destroy evidence, the patwari swallowed four Rs 500 notes when the vigilance team intercepted him.
  • Authorities transported Haider to a local health centre where doctors performed ultrasound and CT scans to recover the ingested currency.
  • Investigators registered a case at the Dehradun Vigilance Police Station and produced Haider in court on May 27.
  • The court ordered Haider to serve 14 days in judicial custody and he is now lodged in Dehradun District Jail.
