Defense Contractor RTX Partners with Rafael Defense Systems to Construct $33M Missile Facility in Arkansas
Arkansas Facility to Create 30 Jobs and Manufacture SkyHunter and Tamir Missiles for US and Israeli Air Defense Systems with Production to Commence in 2025
- Defense contractor RTX will partner with Rafael Defense Systems to construct a $33 million missile manufacturing facility in East Camden, Arkansas, aiming to produce missiles for both U.S. and Israeli air defense systems.
- The facility will produce the Tamir missile for Israel's Iron Dome Weapon System and the SkyHunter missile, a U.S. variant of the Tamir.
- Production at the facility is expected to commence in 2025, with the projection to initially roll out about 325 SkyHunter missiles per year, and ultimately manufacture between 1,000 and 2,000 Tamir missiles annually.
- Once operational, the facility will directly employ 30 staff and produce weaponry for the U.S. Marine Corps in addition to other allied partners.
- The new facility construction project has received incentives including a $250,000 grant for infrastructure, income tax credits, and sales tax refunds from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.
