Defence Secretary Wraps Central Sector Forward Review Focused on Border Mobility

  • Rajesh Kumar Singh visited forward locations in the Central Sector from November 15–17 to review operational issues and the status of priority border infrastructure.
  • At Pithoragarh, he received briefings on significant operational matters from the General Officer Commanding, Uttar Bharat Area and the Commander 119 (I) Infantry Brigade Group.
  • During a stop at Navidang, he met battalion commanders and the Project Hirak chief engineer from the Border Roads Organisation to assess progress on mobility-focused projects.
  • The Director General Border Roads accompanied the review, indicating close oversight of connectivity efforts in strategically sensitive areas.
  • Days earlier, the Defence Ministry signed a Rs 2,095.70 crore Buy (Indian) contract with Bharat Dynamics Limited for INVAR anti-tank missiles to enhance T-90 tank lethality.
