• A motorist reported around 2 p.m. that a deer struck near Lapeer Road had become lodged between the northbound and southbound barriers on I-75.
• Auburn Hills police requested help from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team, which used specialized equipment to lift the animal from the tight space.
• Crews spent nearly an hour carefully untangling the buck’s hooves before completing the extrication.
• Lanes in both directions were temporarily closed during the operation to ensure responder safety.
• Animal Control examined the deer, which appeared bruised but otherwise unharmed, then released it at Bald Mountain Recreation Area as Sheriff Michael Bouchard commended the team.
