Overview
- Over 3,500 police personnel are on duty in Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur and Tiruvannamalai under orders from DIG G. Dharmarajan, covering markets, theatres and busy roads.
- Around 1,000 police and Home Guards are deployed across Tiruchi, with continuous patrols extended to seven subdivisions in Pudukottai through October 21.
- Security measures include 85 vehicle checkpoints, district control rooms watching CCTV feeds, added cameras in crowd-prone areas, drone monitoring in Tiruvannamalai, the FRS mobile app and mobile X‑ray baggage scanners at Katpadi, Arakkonam, Tiruvannamalai and Jolarpet stations.
- RPF and GRP teams conducted anti-sabotage inspections at Tiruchi railway junction and reported no suspicious items.
- Fire and Rescue Services in Tiruchi have mobilised full staffing at 11 stations with tenders pre-positioned at Teppakulam, Chathram bus stand and Gandhi Market, while police share safety messages and hand out scarves to women shoppers to deter chain snatching.
