Decomposing Bodies of Premature Babies Found in Abandoned Gaza Hospital

Decomposing bodies of several premature babies were found in the abandoned al-Nasr Children’s Hospital in northern Gaza, as per video footage taken by journalist Mohammed Baalousha.
The hospital was evacuated around mid-November during the Israeli ground invasion into northern Gaza, with five premature babies left behind due to the impossibility of safely transporting them.
The infants, who were on oxygen machines, were left in the care of a nurse who was forced to evacuate under threat of bombardment, taking only the strongest baby who he thought could survive a temporary cut to oxygen supply.
Two weeks after the evacuation, during a ceasefire, the decomposing bodies of the infants were discovered, with the level of decomposition matching the timeline of the hospital's evacuation.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) deny operating inside the hospital or forcing the evacuation, while the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) stated it was not involved in any evacuation operations.
