Overview

  • Decathlon plans to shut its Brampton, Burlington, Markham, Scarborough and Vaughan stores this summer, with exact dates pending.
  • After the closures, its Ottawa shop will be the only Ontario outlet among 15 remaining Canadian locations.
  • Customers can continue to shop through the company’s e-commerce platform and visit its other stores in Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Quebec.
  • The decision follows a challenging year for Canadian retail that included exits by Hudson’s Bay Co. and Frank and Oak.
  • Decathlon has introduced same-day shipping in select regions as part of its evolving fulfillment strategy.
