Decades-Old Donkey Kong Country 2 Cheat Code Unveiled

A hidden cheat code in the SNES classic Donkey Kong Country 2 has been discovered nearly 30 years after the game's release.

Programmer Alex 'H4v0c21' Corley discovered the cheat while examining disassembled game code.
The cheat allows players to exit any level, completed or not, and return to the world map.
To activate the cheat, players must pause the game and input a specific sequence of button presses: Right + Y, Left + A, Up + B, Down + X.
The discovery was shared on social media and has been confirmed to work on both original SNES cartridges and the Nintendo Switch Online version.
The code may have been left by developers as a shortcut to avoid potential game softlocks.
