Death Toll in Jaipur LPG Tanker Fire Rises to 19

A collision between an LPG tanker and a truck on December 20 caused a massive fire, engulfing dozens of vehicles and leaving several critically injured.

The December 20 accident on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway involved an LPG tanker and a truck, triggering a fireball that engulfed 34 vehicles, including buses and trucks.
Nineteen people have died so far, with the latest fatality reported on December 26; three others remain on ventilator support at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital.
The tanker driver, Jaiveer Singh, survived the blast and fled the scene but later presented himself to the police for questioning about the incident.
DNA profiling is being conducted to identify one of the victims, as some bodies were severely burned and remain unclaimed.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision and the subsequent inferno, which also left over a dozen individuals with severe burn injuries still under treatment.
