Overview

• The animated feature is being co-produced by Kojima Productions and Los Angeles–based studio Line Mileage and is now in active development.
• Aaron Guzikowski, known for Raised by Wolves and Prisoners, has signed on to pen a screenplay that unfolds a new tale within the Death Stranding world.
• The film will present an original narrative rather than adapt the game’s main plot and is described as having a tone akin to Predator: Killer of Killers and the John Wick animated prequel.
• This project operates separately from A24’s live-action Death Stranding adaptation, which is set to be directed by Michael Sarnoski.
• The franchise’s sequel game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, is confirmed for exclusive release on PS5 on June 26, 2025.
