Overview
- Malik Joshua Campbell was discovered unresponsive Tuesday afternoon at the California Correctional Institution and was pronounced dead in the prison’s triage area about 30 minutes later.
- CDCR said the Kern County Coroner will review the case as part of an active homicide investigation, and no weapon was recovered at the scene.
- Campbell’s cellmate, identified as 29-year-old Donte Walker, was moved to restricted housing pending the outcome of the investigation.
