Overview
- The temporary installation replaces all advertising with portraits and stories on more than 150 digital screens plus 50-foot projections across the terminal.
- Organizers describe it as the largest single use of physical space for an art installation in the MTA system, with roughly 20% situated on the subway level.
- The exhibition spans the Main Concourse to the underground passageways and remains open to the public through Oct. 19.
- Brandon Stanton tied the project to his new book, also titled Dear New York, which helped fund the show.
- Over 100 collaborators helped produce the installation, including co-creative directors David Korins and Andrea A. Trabucco-Campos, and a children’s gallery features work from more than 600 NYC public school students.
