Dean Sullivan, best known for his portrayal of Jimmy Corkhill in the Channel 4 soap Brookside, has died at the age of 68.
Sullivan was the longest-serving member of the Brookside cast, playing the character from 1986 until the show ended in 2003.
He was involved in many of the show's most memorable storylines, including the discovery of a body under a patio.
Outside of Brookside, Sullivan had a successful career in theatre, both as an actor and a director.
Sullivan had been living with prostate cancer since 2018.
