Overview

• Deakin University’s GIFT City campus concluded its first placement cycle on May 30, 2025, with eight Master of Business Analytics students hired by National Australia Bank.
• The selected cohort beat competition from 24 interviewed candidates and secured positions in analytics domains such as business performance, fin-crime and customer decisioning.
• Students will begin six-month paid internships at Rs 75 000 per month at NAB’s Innovation Centre India before transitioning into permanent roles.
• Opened in July 2024 with 42 students across Business Analytics and Cybersecurity masters, GIFT City is the first foreign university campus in India delivering Australian degrees locally.
• Deakin plans to introduce new master’s programs in fintech and construction management to meet regional industry needs.
