Deadly Sunny Weather: Kayaker Perishes, Others Rescued As California's Swollen Rivers Run High

Four kayakers were rescued from the Kern River in California, but a fifth kayaker remains missing and is presumed dead.
The group of "professional kayakers" were paddling near Gold Ledge Campground when they got into trouble in the high, fast-moving water.
Authorities have warned people to stay out of rivers in the state due to heavy winter snows and spring runoff creating hazardous conditions.
Tragically, the incident comes just a month after two young children, ages 4 and 8, drowned in the same river.
Sixteen people have died or gone missing in California rivers over the past two months alone due to the perilous conditions.
