Deadly Holiday Highway Crashes Across Brazil Kill Families, Spur Investigations

Authorities are investigating causes to determine accountability during the peak holiday travel period, including an indictment tied to a June highway crash.

  • In Rolândia (PR), six relatives died in a head-on collision with a truck on PR-170; a surviving truck passenger said he woke at the moment of impact, the driver is in intensive care, and the bodies have not yet been released by the IML.
