- Claimants must check REPIS Cidadão using a gov.br account at prata or ouro level, use the FGTS app, or visit a Caixa Econômica Federal branch to submit a request.
- After a request is filed, Caixa reviews the documents and sends approvals to the Ministry of Finance, which pays into a Caixa bank account or an automatic social digital savings account according to the official calendar.
- The government says the average available balance is about R$2,800 per person and that amounts are adjusted for inflation; heirs must present specific proof such as PIS/PASEP/FGTS certificates, payor declarations, or judicial authorizations.
